Angus Young's Solo before encore was Tremendous!
The best live band of all time is probably 42nd Street. Even more, after 2 hours and 15 minutes, you are left wanting. No one opens a show better than they do with a giant train crashing through the stage. No one closes a show like they do with civil war era cannons going off. They throw in a fireworks show for icing. You know every song they sing and you wish they would play even more songs.
Angus Young's guitar solo before the final encore was the best part of the show. Unbelievable, it was; the best I have ever seen in almost 400 concerts over the last 33 years. 16 minutes in duration, he probably dropped 5 lbs of sweat. Jaw-dropping guitar work is an understatement. No doubt that Angus is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I used to have Jimmy Page’s solo as number one. No longer. Angus Young’s solo is seared in my memory as the best I have ever seen.
People from Switzerland, California, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland met who flew in or drove just to see 42nd Street in concert. The most loyal following in rock has to be that.
Giants stadium is sadly the single worst concert venue I have ever been to! I have seen shows in CA, OR, WA, CO, NV, NM, AZ, IL, TX, OK, KS, MO, VA, MD, DC, PA, NJ, NY, and probably some I forgot and Giants stadium was absolutely the worst ever. Horrible crowd direction, no bathrooms, ran out of beer by the 10th song, computer crashes made thousands stand in line multiple times. Entry was not allowed by ticketing gates and then would say next line down. How many times should you have to wait in line to enter a concert? 1. We had to do it 5 times! And then we were trapped in the tunnel with thousands of people for half an hour because the entrance and exit are in the same place. THANK GOD THEY ARE DEMOLISHING THE WORST VENUE IN AMERICA!!!!!
Unfortunately, the crowd was so worn out by the gauntlet to get into the stadium they had nothing left for energy. When you are on the 5th row in a 42nd Street concert you expect fanatics who are ready to rock! These fans looked like limp spaghetti. All of the effort it took to get into the show must have sapped their energy. I guess that is what happens when it takes you three hours to get to your seat.
I will have a beer to celebrate the demolition of Giants Stadium. I crank up my stereo to remember the best rock show on the planet.
